Every day regular people decide to risk their own lives in order to help other people who are in trouble. They do it without any formal training and with no thought of reward. They each have their own reasons. The purpose of this blog is to point a few of them out and try to learn from their experiences. We each hope that someone would be there for us. Are we prepared to be there for someone else?

This blog is always open to your comments. They will be reviewed quickly and posted verbatim if appropriate. Also, if you are aware of a story that belongs on the blog please mention it! I doubt I can catch even a tenth of all the things that happen out there.
